Prospective nursing students seeking admission in Akwa Ibom State have a new opportunity to pursue professional training following the final approval granted to Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences, Ukanafun, by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The institution, in announcing the regulatory clearance, also opened what it described as the final admission window for the 2026/2027 academic session, urging qualified candidates to apply.
The approval marks a significant development for the college, which said it had completed the necessary requirements for the NBTE’s final endorsement.
In a statement on its verified social media platform, the institution said the development strengthened its capacity to provide structured nursing education and practical training for aspiring healthcare professionals.
It attributed the milestone to the leadership of its Chairman, Governing Council, Deacon Ndiana-Abasi Udom, whose commitment it said had contributed to the institution’s progress.
The college said its training programme would combine classroom instruction with practical exposure, supported by learning facilities and provisions designed to promote students’ welfare.
It added that its academic environment was structured to equip students with the professional knowledge, clinical skills and discipline required in nursing practice.
The institution said the final approval represented an important step in its efforts to contribute to the development of healthcare manpower, particularly through the training of competent professionals for the health sector.
With the final admission batch for the 2026/2027 session now announced, interested candidates have been advised to take advantage of the opportunity to begin their nursing education at the Ukanafun-based institution.
The development comes amid the continuing importance of professional training institutions in preparing skilled personnel for healthcare delivery.
